Taylor is a Partner at Mainsail Partners. He is responsible for originating, executing, and supporting investments in software companies. Taylor currently sits on the board of Instinct Science, SmartMoving and Centerbase.

Prior to joining Mainsail, Taylor worked in product management at Fortify Software, which was later acquired by Hewlett Packard (HP). During his six years at Fortify and HP, Taylor ran the SaaS product line and owned the pricing strategy for all products. Prior to Fortify, Taylor was a Summer Associate in Morgan Stanley’s Investment Banking Division and an Associate at New England Capital Partners, a private equity firm focused on acquiring middle-market operating companies. Prior to New England Capital Partners, Taylor was an Associate, Sr. Associate and Principal at The Parthenon Group, a strategic advisory firm. At Parthenon Taylor helped lead projects for sales force optimizations, M&A integrations, acquisitions, and pricing analyses for companies in the technology, retail, healthcare, private equity and publishing industries.

Taylor has a B.A. in Economics and English from Williams College and an M.B.A from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business, where he was President of his class.

Taylor spends his time keeping up with his three kids, following Boston sports teams, and trying to run and bike throughout Marin. Taylor is also on the board of Genesys Works, an organization that provides technology internships and college prep to Bay Area youth.
