The Story

In 2016, Mainsail Partners invested in PeraHealth, a provider of predictive, real-time clinical surveillance solutions. PeraHealth’s software was powered by a proprietary algorithm, the Rothman Index, which used real time EHR data to score patients’ condition and help physicians pre-emptively identify life-threatening complications.

Michael and Steven Rothman developed the Rothman Index after their mother died from undiagnosed complications during a hospital stay. They originally founded Rothman Healthcare Corp as a consulting firm. Rothman Healthcare Corp rebranded as PeraHealth in 2012 when CEO, Stephanie Alexander, joined the company. At the time of Mainsail’s investment, the company served 27 health systems with 70 total hospitals. Notable clients included: Yale New Haven Health and Houston Methodist.
